My sister has left me... I miss having her around already. I live such a lonely existence. So what do I do? Watch tv shows I missed on Thursday! haha I just watched The Office, Community, Fringe, and Survivor. The Office and Community were so funny! I was a little worried about that second episode, but after the third, I so love that show! Fringe and survivor were both as good as usual. Not much else going on today, USF is playing at Syracuse, it's in the 4th quarter and we're winning. I think this is our first Big East game, so if we can win that would be great! The Gators have the week off, nothing new there.
Okay! so the concert last night was SO GOOD!! I love the killers. After my sister got here, we ate (just turkey sandwiches) and then left for the concert. It took about half an hour to get on-campus where they were playing. Doors opened at 7, and we were there just a little after. I always like getting places early, my sister... not so much, she wanted to leave later, but went along with what I wanted, so I was glad. Most people hadn't planned on getting there till later, so it wasn't too busy, I had kind of expected that. There was something else going on that a lot of students were there for, but I don't know what. So we got inside, they scanned our tickets, and I immediately started looking for where they were selling t-shirts! I had a lot of trouble deciding which I wanted. It was between the $40 sweatshirt with the artwork for Day & Age on it, or a $30 purple shirt that says "I got soul" on the front and "but I'm not a soldier" on the back (which is in pink lettering). I ended up going with the purple shirt partly because it was cheaper, and partly because I didn't really like the look the the sweat shirt. I also wanted to put the shirt on right there, a sweat shirt may have been too hot later. I almost wish I could have gotten both, because I really loved the picture on the sweat shirt. Oh well. I only have enough cash for one, it was birthday money.
So then we went and found our seats, which wasn't hard. And they were really good too, you could see much more than the last time I saw the killers. At this point, we had to wait about half and hour for the start at 8 pm. The opening band was Chairlift, which I only know one song (Bruises) and they were not so much fun to watch. Just playing songs I don't know and not doing much on stage, or interacting with the crowd. Part way through their set, the people next to us got there, with beers in hand. I was just like, great, they are gonna have to keep pushing past us to leave, which they did, until the killers started. I do have to say, they were not as bad as the people in front of us, or behind us, that came in with beers, but were already very drunk. One lady behind us was SO loud! My sister was getting really annoyed with her. They all got there after Chairlift finished and before the Killers started. We had another fifteen to twenty minutes before the stage was set for the killers. We watched three guys climb this ladder to get to the lights wayyy above the stage. It was so high up! and they stayed there through the whole show.
Then the Killers came out... and I didn't care about anything else but watching them. My sister made a comment at how bad the acoustics were in there and I hadn't thought about it, but they really were. Then they turn the volume and bass up so loud, our seats were vibrating with the bass through the whole show. Anyway, the lead singer, Brandon Flowers, was so fun just to watch! He was all over the stage and interacting with the crowd. It was a much better show this time compared to last time I saw them, where they just played their songs straight, nothing different, and it made you wonder if they were lip-syncing, not a good thing. He also didn't look like he was enjoying it back then. Last night... he was enjoying himself! and it was great! It was quite the production too, with confetti shot out of cannons and fire on stage, plus all the lights! This one guy in front of us (I think was drunk) was really enjoying himself - jumping around, singing along, and looking like an idiot. My sister said he looked like a monkey. He was distracting her, being that he was in our line of sight, but I just ignored him and focused on the band. So Mr. Flowers started out in these tight black jeans with a black shirt and the famous black jacket with feathers on the shoulders. He took off the jacket after maybe the first song... then had a black long sleeved button-up shirt through most of the rest of the concert... I think with a black vest over it.
Then toward the end, the band left the stage, and you think they are done, but the house lights had not come on yet, so I knew they were not done. And sure enough, they all came back out after a few minutes. Brandon with a short sleeve black shirt on. I can't imagine how sweaty he must have been, but you could not seen it at all with the black shirt (and vest I guess). They played three more songs and that was the end then. They did play one song with Chairlift, but I didn't know the song, it was slightly less entertaining at that point, but picked back up with the next song. So I think I remember all the songs they played, just not in order, so I tried looking it up and found a setlist, but not for last nights show. I think the list for a few days ago in Arizona was different, but not by much. So here it is:
Joy Ride
Human
For Reasons Unknown
Bones
The World We Live In
Bling (Confessions of a King)
Shadowplay
Somebody Told Me
Smile Like You Mean It
Spaceman
A Dustland Fairy Tale
Can't Help Fallin In Love [Elvis Presley]
Read My Mind
Mr. Brightside
All These Things That I've Done
Sam's Town
Jenny Was a Friend of Mine
When You Were Young
So I think they played "Losing Touch" last night instead of "The World We Live In" and the order of a few of the songs were slightly different. Because I didn't remember them playing "somebody told me" right before " smile like you mean it" but I do remember "spaceman' being right after "human". So I guess that show was a little different. Then of course the Elvis Presley song was actually the song they played with Chairlift. So the beginning was the same, and the end was the same. Just the middle, I'm not quite sure about. Hopefully that site will update with new setlists... here's the website:

So that's my reaction to the concert... I wish I could have a video of the entire night, but as of now, I have no good video camera and did not bring my digital camera. They are supposed to have a Dvd released of concert footage from this tour, and I cannot wait for that. It would be something I watch over and over! I don't think I forgot anything I wanted to say... but if so, I'll mention it tomorrow :) Oh and The Bulls won! yay! 5 and 0 for the season
